During the 1850s, Milly (Jane Powell), a pretty young cook, marries Adam (Howard Keel), a grizzled woodsman, after a brief courtship. When the two return to Adam's farm, Milly is shocked to meet his six ill-mannered brothers, all of whom live in his cabin. She promptly begins teaching the brothers proper behavior, and most importantly, how to court a woman. But after the brothers kidnap six local girls during a town barn-raising, a group of indignant villagers tries to track them down.

Though the costume designs are vibrantly symbolic to buoy the impressive dance sequences and soothing musical numbers, it danced on questionably low standards with a frivolously unjustified premise that contradicts its romanticism in a rather unfunny fashion if considered a satire. (B-)

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a lovely musical that proves love conquers all through the power of genuine partnership. The brothers are not bad-hearted but merely ignorant brutes who are struck with awe upon meeting Milly. Their adoration allows her to establish authority and work on them until they become civilised, driven entirely by their devotion to the women. Milly skillfully matches the brothers with women who are shy, brave, or bold, ensuring lovely and loving partnerships. With great music and choreography, the film shines as a charming story where affection serves as the ultimate catalyst for change.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

This movie is an instant classic. It's enjoyable and teleports you back in time. I grew up watching all these musicals and they still have a special place in my heart. Warning the songs will get stuck in your heads. I wish we could go back to these times.
