Braveheart’s secret sauce though is really its magnificent soundtrack. Evocative and complementary in the way a movie soundscape should be, James Horner’s bagpipe, string and percussion-filled score adds to virtually every scene.

The major failing of Braveheart is that it never for a moment convinces us that we've invaded a remote and alien culture. Its success is that it recaptures the high ground of movie heroism.

Braveheart will no doubt have it's critics which may question the film's historic validity but that aside everything else within it is simply superb. Every scene carries a very real feel to it with an unrelenting beautiful score throughout. Gibson's portrayal of Wallace is deeply heartfelt and deserves high praise for his obvious personal connection with the character. Outstanding from start to finish.

Genuinely a Blockbuster, The Music , The Cast , The Visuals , Some of the most incredible acting from the likes of Patrick McGoohan , who plays Longshanks , never known a better person to play a Villain / Tyrant like that. Oh and The battles are Testosterone Injections , Prepare for Speeches that will give ye shivers , unless your English. Mel Gibson and the film itself gets annoyingly bad comments , when it really doesn’t have too , it’s a film not a documentary, But captures Scottish Pride in no other way something else could , it’s Deffo a top ten film for a man , who’s not English.
