This is the later. The two main characters can't get through the first half hour of the movie without swearing every other word or stop debating about bands for five seconds. This screams of amateur filmmaking. In a good movie, you give info about your character and then move on to provide different info to learn something new about them. In Christmas Bloody Christmas, the characters I'm referring too are stuck in first gear. They can't talk about anything else, or be anything but obnoxious, so they inevitably become uninteresting and unlikable. At that point, why should anyone care? And a multi-million dollar Terminator Santa ends up at a small town toy store? How the hell does that happen? Oh wait, again, I don't care. Word of advice to the director: You're not experienced enough to make movies for yourself. You have to do something good first. The banter between Riley Dandy and Sam Delich was making this movie for me so... whatever Joe Begos. As for those complaining about the cussing, how do you not know people that talk like this?
