Jimmy is a narrative feature film imagining the young life of James Baldwin in Paris, newly arrived from New York. It will envisage a life of the late James Baldwin outside of his academia and activism. Jimmy is to give his admirers a fill in on parts of his life only imagined and highlight what an everydayness looked like for Baldwin. The film is set to be filmed in Paris’s left bank and Maghreb quarters where Baldwin spent his young adult life.
