Claudio C @Claudio666 3d The Moralist End Ruins the Film (12,593 – 28 Jul 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In a small French town, the former mason Martin Roumagnac owns a building construction company and lives with his sister. When he meets Blanche Ferrand in a box fight, he falls for her. The whole town that she was an easy girl from Paris, who has a pet shop with her Australian uncle. However, Roumagnac is seduced by her and builds a fancy house by the lake for her, financially ruining him. Blanche is a gold digger and Roumagnac is a rude man without instruction. Out of the blue, her affair, consul De Laubry, arrives in town since his wife has died and he wants to marry her. "Martin Roumagnac", a.k.a "The Room Upstairs" (1946), is a nice French film with Marlene Dietrich speaking in French in the role of a femme fatale. The plot is good, with Jean Gabin as her romantic pair. Unfortunately, the moralist end ruins the film. My vote is six. Title (Brazil): "Mulher Malvada" ("Wicked Woman") See more Read all reviews
