gungi T @WhatWhere May 11 A group of profilers are sent to a remote island to be supervised and trained, but the fictional case of a murder turns into reality, slowly taking a toll on each of its members. Not the worst premise, but the movie is too pretentious, not hiding its subtle attention to detail to make every person smart, analytical, and an expert in reading and understanding human psychology. But it fails to address the consequences of such an outline, namely that the killer among them somehow seems to out-genius the geniuses, essentially making the portrayed profilers a bunch of amateurs. Not to mention that the plan to eliminate all those profilers hangs on a loose thread, decided by pure timely coincidence to react and act upon indecisive and uncontrollable events. Worst of all, the secret plotter even has the ability to take down the expert supervisor and his group, who secretly stay on the island to follow the training. The ham-handed editing choices, the zooms and sound effects that were already cliched on TV by this point, let alone film, and the repeated fake-out deaths pile one atop the other to drag this film down even further.
