Vivian (Hadley Robinson), a seemingly shy 16-year-old, has always preferred to keep her head down and fly under the radar. But when the arrival of a new student (Alycia Pascual-Peña) forces her to examine the unchecked behavior of her fellow students running rampant at her high school, Vivian realizes she's fed up. Inspired by her mother's (Amy Poehler) rebellious past, Vivian anonymously publishes an underground zine called Moxie to expose bias and wrongdoing in her high school, and unexpectedly sparks a movement. Now at the center of a revolution, Vivian begins to forge new friendships with other young women and allies, reaching across the divide of cliques and clubs as they learn to navigate the highs and lows of high school together.

Moxie comes up a little short on its titular ingredient when it comes to fully addressing its story's timely themes, but this sweet coming-of-age story is still easy to like.

every time i rewatch this film i am in a constant state of joy because of this amazing cast of women. loved how this film showcases many individual personalities but one thing i wish they did better in was focusing a little more on storylines of certain girls. other than that, truly a fun rewatch! oh how i love being a woman and being a part of community spaces taken up mainly by women.

As a teenage girl myself, this movie was amazing. The message behind it is a very important one, and after watching this I feel so empowered. I think movies like this are what help inspire change in the world. I think it was executed well with the script, there were moments I got sad and moments I got angry. And the actors did really well. Overall I would definitely recommend this movie, it was really powerful.

Boring, poorly executed, insanely hyperbolic, and worst of all, extremely damaging. This type of content makes zealots, blind to reality, forever fantasizing whatever cause they've been programmed to "fight."
