It was great! Definitely recommend! See more Darren D @DarrenJD Sep 26 The 1990 remake of "Night of the Living Dead" is a good example of a remake done correctly. It respectfully keeps the core aspects of the original & it wasn't afraid to make slight changes. It made sense to have George A. Romero's long time collaborator, Tom Savini in the director's chair, especially with Savini's background in special effects in the horror genre which is on show here with some solid blood soaked practical effects & makeup for the undead. Tony Todd's portrayal of Ben felt perfect for the situation these people find themselves in. He's sympathetic to those around him, a flawed well-meaning leader under the pressure of infighting & the horror he's seen. Patricia Tallman is perfectly cast as Barbara, she grows from being a fragile figure after witnessing the death of her brother & seeing the undead rise around her, but she's given room to grow into a fighter, a survivor. See more Jonathan N @Passtheacidtest Aug 31 Having seen the original, this one really is an upgrade. While the original Romero film was ground-breaking, this one really modernized it. I loved the characters, and the story, and the special effects. The zombies were fantastic. My one peeve about this film is that you do not see the brother character after the opening scene. Maybe I just missed it? I think they missed a golden opportunity to bring him back as a zombie. They even brought back one of the other graveyard zombies. Anyway, the main character woman was a total badass and had major character development. Gosh, I really loved all the characters they were so well-done. All of the scenes really seemed to be very well-done. It's a great movie. Must see. See more Read all reviews
