The live-action sequences, in which Antonio Banderas chews the pirate scenery, may not live up to the Looney Tunes madness of the cartoons, but for sheer head-scrambling craziness this is hard to beat.

Sponge out of Water was a blast from start to finish! The 2D animation was amazing! The story was really good with the disappearance of the Secret Formula. The 3D/Live-Action segments were fun, the time travel chaos was fun. This movie screams fun! SpongeBob & Plankton teaming up was something new, and in the end they turn into superheroes! Fun SpongeBob Movie!
