The Muppet Show (2026) Eric Goldman The special is packed with all of the silly sight gags, puns, and moments of exasperation you’d want from Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo and the rest of the gang.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (2025) Eric Goldman The movie isn’t subtle but it is darkly funny in its warped — but sometimes only barely warped — depiction of our often unsettling modern life

The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) Eric Goldman Seyfried is key, because you have to buy that people would connect to Ann and invest in her so fully, and her performance ensures you do.

Disneyland Handcrafted (2026) Eric Goldman I go to Disneyland frequently, but Disneyland Handcrafted instantly had me thinking about the park in a brand new way, with a newfound respect for the countless people it took to make Walt Disney's dream a reality.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025) Eric Goldman This remake does a commendable job of taking the same basic set-up of the original and then doing something very different with it, without losing sight of what inspired this version.

Hedda (2025) Eric Goldman Just like her character, Tessa Thompson becomes the center of every room she enters, giving a career best performance in her reunion with Nia DaCosta.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025) Eric Goldman Rose Byrne expertly grounds Linda so that she feels both fully formed and worth investing in, even when she’s at her worst.

In Your Dreams (2025) Eric Goldman In Your Dreams is a charming and sweet film, boasting an empathetic older sister/little brother dynamic between its two leads.

Frankenstein (2025) Eric Goldman Del Toro’s take on Mary Shelley’s classic novel is appropriately operatic, with a ton of great flourishes that make this very familiar story still feel vibrant.

Bone Lake (2024) Eric Goldman Director Mercedes Bryce Morgan manages to maintain an appropriately uneasy yet also darkly funny tone, as we see things begin to spin out of control and ponder just what exactly is going on here.

Shell (2024) Eric Goldman A very messy movie that starts out strong and then fails to deliver in the long run. Things begin to unravel as the film continues and the tone gets more outlandish.

Y2K (2024) Eric Goldman It's really funny throughout, with lots of strong and well executed comedic moments, not to mention one joke in particular I absolutely lost it laughing at.

8/10
We Live in Time (2024) Eric Goldman You could call the non-linear approach a trick to disguise the formula, yet it feels like a trick with purpose. It all crucially rests on the shoulders of its two stars, who feel so engaging as they effortlessly bring you into these two people's lives.

The Apprentice (2024) Eric Goldman Sebastian Stan gives an excellent performance as Trump, especially in the first half, set in the 1970s. Rather than do an exact impression of Trump, which could feel like parody, he’s evoking Trump’s attitude and how he carries himself.

The Imaginary (2023) Eric Goldman The Imaginary is a highly rewarding experience, filled with fantastic hand-drawn animation – if only we could get more US films done this way again – and well-earned cathartic moments.
