Matias F @RT65064213 7 hrs ago This series feels like yet another formula Apple insists on repeating: bring together great actors, give them excellent cinematic production value, and put them at the service of a story that feels almost scriptless, improvised, and, at times, simply in poor taste. It is precisely with productions like this that you expect more from the actors involved. These are performers who already have the fame, recognition, and probably the money they dreamed of as kids. At this point in their careers, you would hope they would have enough respect for their audience to demand more effort from writers and producers before stepping in front of the camera again. Apple keeps betting on a combination that simply does not work: great actors with very little editorial effort. In the short term, it works well enough because audiences are willing to give a show a chance because of the names attached to it. Somehow Austin is a kind of cowtown where there’s no mobile phone service. Or where in the land of Friday night lights Big Mac’s jersey gets retired not in a football game (it’s football season we know from a scene with UT fans).
