All About My Mother (1999) Ted Prigge Roth indeed holds this journey-film together with ease.

8/10
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) Ted Prigge A sad, funny, often hypnotic film.

3/4
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) Ted Prigge You're more or less bound to have a blast watching it, that is, if you don't take any of it seriously.

8/10
Magnolia (1999) Ted Prigge Indeed, the biggest problem is not that no one story is completely brilliant.

8/10
High Fidelity (2000) Ted Prigge In short, fans of the book will wince but overall smile, and those who wanted to read the book will enjoy even more.

8/10
Run Lola Run (1998) Ted Prigge Certainly fast and frenetic and loads of fun

3.5/4
The Matrix (1999) Ted Prigge Its flaws are hardly obscure, but when watching it, I was gleefully overlooking them because in essence I was having so much damn fun. I really haven't seen a film this electrifying, this full of life, at least in this form, since, oh, Bound.

8/10
The Dreamlife of Angels (1998) Ted Prigge While that's not enough to make me go crazy over this one (like some people), it is enough for me to genuflect quite a bit in awe of good characters and good details done.

9/10
Air Force One (1997) Ted Prigge Air Force One is one hell of a ride. It doesn't even require you to turn off your brain - the film does it for you ... But for those 2 hours, frankly, you don't give a damn. The film is that intriguing.

8/10
The Straight Story (1999) Ted Prigge It's a relaxing film with dull edges.

7/10
The Sixth Sense (1999) Ted Prigge But, then again, that twist is really, really overrated.

8/10
American History X (1998) Ted Prigge A very good movie.

8/10
Blade (1998) Ted Prigge A triumph of visual brilliance, a great piece of flashy, moody pulp, and a film of mostly style and very little substance.
Posted Jan 01, 2000Edit critic review
8/10
The Iron Giant (1999) Ted Prigge I'll embarrass myself by saying how much it moved me.
Posted Jan 01, 2000Edit critic review
9/10
Yojimbo (1961) Ted Prigge Massive amounts of swordplay and treachery turn it into one of the most entertaining and best Kurosawa films.
Posted Jan 01, 2000Edit critic review
9/10
Life Is Beautiful (1997) Ted Prigge But that's what's so extremely interesting about this film. It's deceptive and clever, and it certainly had me thinking it was something else and not such a downbeat film.

8/10
The Green Mile (1999) Ted Prigge Sure, there are plenty of good moments here to elicit active enjoyment.
Posted Jan 01, 2000Edit critic review
9/10
Laura (1944) Ted Prigge Preminger's deft direction creates an elegant noirish tone, and he elicits near-perfect performances from everyone, even a pre-Horror Schlock Vincent Pryce.
