I never understood the negative ratings about this movie. Guess that a lot of the "professional critics" agreed with that writer from the LA times newspaper!? Not enough white people?? But like Eddie said, they don't want to see respectable working middle/upper class black folks in offices, and successful! But, they gonna give Boyz N the Hood great reviews, because we thugging and bangin' and druggin and sexin'! Fact is, just as it was nearly 35 yrs ago, Boomerang is great story about friendship, love, not taking people for granted and learning whatever is on the inside, far outweighs what is on the outside! Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are both hilarious. The movie features many comedians. Halle Berry played her role exceptionally well. The love story between Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A great exploration of misogynoir of the time, showing Black people as real fully-rounded human beings with careers and layered interpersonal lives.
