Dabis’ screenplay is episodic but it gathers power as it goes. She doesn’t believe in shorthand. Nor does she hold back in portraying the tragic consequences of the Palestinians’ expulsion from their homes.

I loved the movie. It sounded exactly like the story my grandmother shared with us on how she, my dad and two aunts escaped Jaffa in 1948. It was almost 100% identical. Extremely emotional. I just wish more theaters played this movie so more people can see it.

One of the most emotionally charged movies that I have ever seen. It is a must see for anyone looking to get a little more color on what's going on in Palestine. We were a group of 13 and I don't think anyone said a word for 10 minutes after the movie ended.
