See more Matt B @RT13589271 Jul 11, 2026 The scenes on earth, shot on film, feel like time travel. They look like they were shot today, with the people and places in perfect period attire. The scenes from the mission itself are obviously lower resolution and not in color, but the doc does a fantastic job of conveying the drama and majesty of the events it covers. One characteristic that stood out, and added to my enjoyment, was that there is no narration -- the filmmakers used only archival audio of the engineers, newscasters, astronauts, etc. over the video and it was always cohesive. Very impressive. I went into this with high expectations, and they were surpassed. I'm a bit of a picture quality snob and this film was high on the list of search results when I looked for films to showcase 4k blu ray on an OLED television. This is demo material for sure. To see real footage and listen to real audio from one of the most inspiring events in history is a privilege and a blessing. The film tastefully selects the proper archival footage and audio and takes a minimally necessary approach to illustrating the various steps required to complete the mission. The focus is definitely kept to the actual footage.
