I feel like it will be a more direct hit to couples like Lauren and Seth, which is probably the way it should be, but there’s a better version of this film that works at pulling in those of us who have to worry about carpools and college tuition, too. By the time the film ends, the genius of Miller Rogen’s script clicks into place: We can build families anywhere, and it’s to our detriment if we prioritize the nuclear, biological family to such an extent that we forget others in our community.
