See more X O 10/18/2023 Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't follow where it is going. What's the point? And so much swearing, especially with the 3 girl family. It's so weird. I can't see this focusing anywhere. The character of Ben is beyond a loser. Why are the girls talking to him for? He's a complete loser. See more L D 09/22/2023 The movie was more about female "best friend" relationships than about teen romance. This would have been fine by me -even celebrated -except the "best friends" weren't like any female best friend relationship I've ever had or seen. Sorry to disappoint but real female friends don't cuddle in bed or grope each other's breasts. If a woman wrote that relationship, I swear she is a closet lesbian in denial. Plus, for me, personally, I found all the drug use infused with Daria derived snark (as a substitution for intelligence) was unpleasant. I didn't like or relate to most of the people in the film. I did, however, like the setup. What would happen if, somehow, the laws of nature, friendship and women were broken and the new girlfriend became best friends with the old girlfriend. That was an interesting question and setup. And I did like how the movie portrayed the heartbreak of first love lost. There were times when my heart ached along in sympathy. But beyond seeing Dylan Sprouse making out with everybody (which is always appreciated), the film left me with a depressed view of today's youth. It's shot well and most notably, the acting chemistry between the two girls feels quite genuine throughout the majority of their ups and downs. Despite the simple and rather movie-esque plot writing, their performances really held the film together much much more than I expected.
