Best Of The Best is unlike many of its YA counterparts because, while its arcs seem overly familiar, it comes through a relatively rare POV: two young women who have straddled being both South Asian and American, without bending who they truly are.

This movie is a fun watch for anyone who loves dance. It also subtly leans into some history of south east Asia. The movie is also very funny and has some positive themes about self discovery, relationships and gender.
