Nina (Natalie Portman) is a ballerina whose passion for the dance rules every facet of her life. When the company's artistic director decides to replace his prima ballerina for their opening production of "Swan Lake," Nina is his first choice. She has competition in newcomer Lily (Mila Kunis) however. While Nina is perfect for the role of the White Swan, Lily personifies the Black Swan. As rivalry between the two dancers transforms into a twisted friendship, Nina's dark side begins to emerge.

I was able to watch the 15th Anniversary IMAX edition of this film, but my critique is about the movie itself. Great film, loved immersing myself and disassociating from the outside world during this movie. It is truly worth watching in theaters if you can find it again, but the plot is great, it's a very accurate depiction of the dance world (I have some experience) and it was a pleasure to see it depicted on the big screen. The cinematography is amazing, the acting superb!

an absolute modern masterpiece in film. it takes a higher consciousness to understand and love this movie. from the beautiful Tchaikovsky's swan lake weaved into the soundtrack by mansell. the most amazing mix of glamour, darkness, tragedy, beauty.. Nat is surreal and you forget this is someone acting. Barbara hershey (legend) as Erica sayers.. easily one of the most venomous moms in film history. brilliance in every scene. camerawork in many mirrrors, beautiful costumes, flowers and nature visuals. the rothbart costume is so perfectly evil yet beautiful. just a timeless piece of art. you notice or hear a different piece of symbolism with every watch. thats what makes this film so legendary and artistic. this is the mold. a cut above the rest that takes a special film lover to treasure this film, and the exquisite nina sayers, forever.

Some of the best acting I have seen. Love a movie where I can't tell what's real and what's not. The violence at the end is crazy and unsettling, I think in some ways it goes a little too far, in other ways I understand the importance and intention behind it. Really good
