mlc_085 @mlc_085 2d Watch this before you decide to open your own restaurant. I was in the industry for more than a decade. It's not perfectly accurate, but it's pretty damn close. Final scene is a powerful representation of the sacrifices made in the name of "dining." You get to see the drama that’s behind the curtain and believe me it is very real. What I really didn’t like about this movie is the ending, it felt short and the ending felt rushed in a way. But then again I’m not sure what ending I envisioned… But, the fact that the entire film was shot in one continuous take is rather impressive. Set in an upscale London restaurant, the camera unflinchingly captures the mayhem of both the front and the back of house over a ninety-minute period. Stress-inducing thanks to both the style and the setting, Boiling Point focuses primarily on Andy (Stephen Graham), a chef whose life is quickly spiraling out of control, and his impact on those he works with. Anyone going into this expecting much of a plot will probably be disappointed – make no mistake, this is a character study of a man watching his life slip through his fingers over the course of an evening. Graham is great in the lead role, as is Vinette Robinson as his exasperated sous-chef, but the real star of the show is the style – agile camerawork, excellent sound, and creative blocking make it a worthy entry in the one-shot sweepstakes.
