Brokeback’s high emotion occasionally borders on the melodrama of classic Hollywood. There is plenty of aching nuance, but the film is, for the most part, generous and entirely legible in its pathology. Go to Full Review

Behind its convenient (and infuriating) designation as "the gay cowboy movie," this is as universal as any love story Hollywood has produced in recent times. Go to Full Review

Isabella H @MrsHamilton 2d One of my favorite movies of all time. Heath Ledger was truly a one in a million actor. He brought so much life and emotion to this role. Jake Gyllenhaal once again delivered a powerful performance. Him and Heath had a lot of chemistry and were the perfect pair for this film. This movie broke me in half. It was an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the way their relationship progressed. The aggression that they had with one another was a testament to the fact that they didn't want to believe that they're gay. These are real struggles that gay men have. It hurts to much to admit. Especially in the 1960s when that was completely looked down upon. Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway also delivered amazing performances. I felt like Alma was given a lot of depth to her character, you couldn't help but feel bad for her. This truly is a must watch for anyone that wants to be emotionally destroyed in the best way possible. 5 stars. See more Maarit L @Komedienne May 17 Quiet, beautiful love story.
