Agent Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) becomes acting deputy director of the CIA when Admiral Greer (James Earl Jones) is diagnosed with cancer. When an American businessman, and friend of the president, is murdered on a yacht, Ryan starts discovering links between the man and drug dealers. As CIA agent John Clark (Willem Dafoe) is sent to Colombia to kill drug kingpins in retaliation, Ryan must fight through multiple cover-ups to figure out what happened and who's responsible.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Clear and Present Danger" (1994) ranks for me as one of the two best film they have made about Jack Ryan - this and "Hunt for Red October". Revisiting this film in 2026 on 4K UHD reminded me of how great movie is. The story here is way more complex then in previous movies, but it is so much more realistic as well. The storytelling is amazing - at running time 2h 20 min this film grabbed my attention from an opening scene till titles started to roll. As predictable this may sound - they just don't make movies like this no more. Overall, "Clear and Present Danger" is a very smart, highly involving, realist tale about political games, drug cartel influences, spy games and realistic and spectacular action in between. This is a great movie on all accounts.

Expertly woven story of political intrigue and plenty of action. The acting is superb and the director makes sure you feel the intensity in all the right ways, at just the right times. Great movie!

Good movie! It had a lot of fun action! Surprised to see that this has so many subpar reviews. I really enjoyed it! Thought Harrison Ford was great in this! Something tells me this may be one of his most underrated roles. It’s a shame he didn’t return for the sequel. Rating: 10/10. It’s a blast!
