Bardot shows she can act and that comedy is her trade. Beautifully directed, pacey wonderful screenplay full of twists and turns on a backdrop of nostalgia for the lost world of a small town community supporting its most unlikely son Bourvil playing a normand Forest Gump going back to school as per his uncle' last wishes. Supporting roles are magnificent too.
