A haunting study of trauma, ritual, and place-memory, where landscape itself becomes an archive of repetition and loss. Beautiful and enigmatic, the film prioritizes mood and mystery over linear narrative, so it won’t be for everyone.

Alone on an uninhabited Cornish island, a wildlife volunteer (Mary Woodvine) experiences reality as a scattershot dream. Filmed with 16mm, grainy, virtually colorless, and rife with fixed compositions, Enys Men will test the biggest fan of slow burns. It's at once enticing and frustrating in how little it tells us. The narrative is intentionally opaque, leaving much to the viewer's interpretation. Mourning become anemia. I enjoyed it but not for everyone.
