Breathe J @SilverScreenSweetheart 2d Ever After is among the best retellings of the classic Cinderella story, arguably even better than the original fairytale itself. Laced with wholesome scenes, a sharp script, witty humor, and stunning performances (most notably from Anjelica Huston and Megan Dodds, and Drew Barrymore), Ever After is a childhood favorite of mine, and I have seen it easily over a hundred times. It is an emotional, entertaining, and enchanting romance that I would recommend to anyone and everyone, especially fans of Cinderella and romance. Personally, I love how the fantastical elements were removed from the story in this film, as it humanized the story and gave it a realistic touch. I also liked the historical incorporation of Leonardo da Vinci. It is a beautiful twist to an already beautiful story. Thank you for reading my review! God bless you. See more Henry D @Henry_Domke 3d Simplistic and very sweet, conventional to a fault. Despite the high production values, it doesn’t hold up visually almost 30 years later. It’s crying out to be remastered. The skin tones looked monochromatic, and the costumes, hair, and jewelry did not show enough fine detail. Even though it was streaming in 4K, the image never really sparkled the way it should have. See more Melissa M @Lisey Apr 11 The story of Cinderella has been told so many times. There has to be a different spin on it. Or it would be no different than the original story. Telling the story the same way over & over again would be pointless. It's interesting to see Drew Barrymore speak with a British accent. She's bloody brilliant. The movie has action, adventure, & romance. Some parts of the film are heartfelt. Particularly like the part when her character dresses up like a noble woman to save the life of a servant. She frees the servant using the prince's money. What she gave her earlier in the film ensure her silence for recognizing him. It's nice to see the character of Cinderella as a protagonist & not as a helpless hapless character. Ever after: A Cinderella story is a fun family friendly film. And I wish that the stepmother died 😕 also Daniela never got to explain her hard life story before the prince judged her for being a peasant and even though he is her husband she's still didn't tell him about her past.
