Mia (Jane Levy), a drug addict, is determined to kick the habit. To that end, she asks her brother, David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend, Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore) and their friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) to accompany her to their family's remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. Eric finds a mysterious Book of the Dead at the cabin and reads aloud from it, awakening an ancient demon. All hell breaks loose when the malevolent entity possesses Mia.

Fede Álvarez’s Evil Dead, while not entirely following the Evil Dead traditions the cult classic is famous for, creates a further sprawl into the Raimi-verse, bringing the world of the Deadites firmly into modern day.

Takes the bones of the core concept, then remixes and reimagines them in ways that honor the spirit of the source material without trying to replicate it. Without Bruce Campbell's charm, this might be the best we could get out of an Evil Dead revival.

This movie is bananas! Gory , nasty, brutal, and unrelenting. Amazing practical effects and kills! People complain cause the tone is different but this is its own thing! Must watxh.

Aside from some weird dialogue and some obvious mistakes by some stupid humans, this was a golden watch. Sure, they were moments where you would go (as with any horror movie) "don’t go in there!" Or "don’t do that!" but you can often see and understand that it came from a place of curiosity and not necessarily stupidity. Definitely arrogance though, because >people<. The movie carries itself really well I think, in the buildup of events happens in a good, linear fashion. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the core was also excellent. It was raw and disgusting, as you would expect from this specific franchise, but not so much that it’s over the top. It’s absolutely horrifying though. Overall, I think it was an interesting and noteworthy experience. Absolutely worthy of the franchise. Absolutely worth a watch for any horror fan.

terrible boring film, it tries so hard to accomplish so little, is easily forgivable, it can't touch the originals, just it does not know what evil dead is, it just tried to do a gory film that is not funny nor scary, this is just a waste of your time.

Awesome, gritty horror movie that has some of the goriest scenes you'll ever see! You'll be watching through your fingers and yelling at the screen, it's such a painful experience (in a good way)
