Marco L @decatur555 1 day ago Al otro barrio is perfectly watchable and almost instantly forgettable. Its mix of social comedy, class conflict, broad stereotypes and late emotional beats feels extremely familiar, and the film rarely pushes any of those elements far enough to become genuinely sharp. Quim Gutiérrez is easily the most interesting part, showing a wider acting range than the material really demands and moving comfortably between arrogance, comedy, awkwardness and vulnerability. The rest of the cast is competent but leaves little impression. Mar Olid keeps things moving at a pleasant pace, yet the social commentary remains too safe and the emotional machinery is far too visible. It is not bad enough to irritate or strong enough to linger. A functional, amiable comedy that does its job, ends, and begins disappearing from memory almost immediately. See more Read all reviews
