andrea C @Charst 5 days ago Epico racconto condito da un cast incredibile che rende molto più semplice la distinzione ed il riconoscimento dei personaggi nella trama. La sceneggiatura è piuttosto semplice per un film di questa durata, alcuni personaggi si dimostrano essere meno importanti di quanto le premesse facessero credere ed il tutto si riduce ad un immenso revenge movie. Il dualismo Di Caprio - Day Lewis rende ogni dialogo più potente a livello emozionale ma al contempo non c'è quel grande climax che ci si aspetta, proprio per un finale troppo scontato. Infine l'insieme delle ambientazioni tra il reale e la fantasia convince per originalità ma lascia perplessi per il finale dove invece il vero contesto storico diventa più importante. Opera di immense dimensioni che forse, pur essendo originale, non ripaga a pieno di tutti gli sforzi. Daniel Day-Lewis was absolutely powerhouse, and Di Caprio held his own. But the climax was more than just a letdown—it was straight-up chaotic. The 19th-century New York backdrop completely drowned out the personal revenge story. Maybe Scorsese was trying to show how powerless individuals are in the face of history, but honestly, it just crushed the catharsis of a revenge tale I spent two hours building up to.
