Logan D @Greynomad38 3d A hitman is hired to kill the son of an oil tycoon. Said oil tycoon uses his resources to seek revenge. During most of US film history there hasn't been much respect for adult animation. Unless it was Disney, such films were a risk. Thankfully I had Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, Wizards, and Heavy Metal. Meanwhile, respect for the genre as an art form for adults was gaining traction in Japan. Sadly, those films were hard to get when I was young. Indeed, I never even heard of most of them until the past decade or so. So, I'm catching up! The hitman, Golgol, is a stoic, impressive figure. I saw him as a prototype of Brock Samson from The Venture Bros (or at least how Brock would want to be). He's morally detached from his job and other persons. The film itself is more cool than meaningful. It features a distinct artistic identity, especially for that time, with minimal dialogue. There's some T&A and lots of action.
