Dating coach Alex "Hitch" Hitchens (Will Smith) mentors a bumbling client, Albert (Kevin James), who hopes to win the heart of the glamorous Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta). While Albert makes progress, Hitchens faces his own romantic setbacks when proven techniques fail to work on Sara Melas (Eva Mendes), a tabloid reporter digging for dirt on Allegra Cole's love life. In the 17 years since (and the 10 or so before) the release of Hitch, websites and apps, which were geared to those looking for love or something like it, make what takes place throughout this film appear quaint, arcane, and more than a bit dated.

A phenomenal film, very underrated gem at that which balances a perfect blend of comedy, romance, and heart. The chemistry between Eva Mendes and Will Smith oozed even off the screen you just felt like this was something in real time, and this is the perfect film to watch with your significant other and embrace.

While you might go in thinking it's just another formulaic rom-com, Hitch quickly proves to be a cut above the rest. The premise of a professional "date doctor" could easily feel stale, but Will Smith and company are so charming that the film effortlessly rises above the crowd. With a perfect blend of genuine heart, sharp wit, and undeniable chemistry between Smith and Kevin James, it transforms a predictable genre into a genuinely feel-good experience that remains a rewatchable classic.
