Holy Days tries hard to be sentimental and charming, but this dull and witless comedy/drama is filled with stale jokes and cringeworthy acting. Three nuns and a lonely boy go on a road trip to save the nuns from convent eviction.

A very good movie - heart warming, funny, some very good "reminders" (life lessons) for all. If you're hyper religious, don't take offense - remember it's just a movie that reminds us all that we're human and in need of some type of redemption.

I feel it is my responsibility to sing the praises of Holy Days - the film truly touched my soul. The themes of loss, faith, and friendship are delicately woven throughout the story. Plus, the genuine charm, innocence, and lightness of New Zealand ties everything together quite beautifully. The film elicited both tears and giggles - it is a true testament to the heartwarming story and relatable characters. And of course, the stunning landscapes of the beloved South Island made for an incredibly fun adventure (with a personal touch of nostalgia as I lived in New Zealand for many years). I highly recommend Holy Days!
