Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

In the first half of the film, I was being piloted by Confusion and Dissatisfaction. But by the end, Joy was very much in charge.

It is not easy to depict something at complex as depression, or something that resembles depression in Riley’s case. But Inside Out somehow makes sense of it.

I remember when I first watched this movie back in 2015. When I left the theater, I put it in my top 5 Pixar ranking. At the time, I wondered if that was recency bias or if it would hold up. It definitely held up. This movie is phenomenal! It's creative, it's clever, it's funny, it's heart wrenching, it's just a beautiful film and an exploration of human nature. I could watch a dozen Inside Out films. Best Character: Bing Bong (underrated) Best Quote: "Take her to the moon for me!" - Bing Bong Best Scene: Bing Bong's Sacrifice Best Piece of Score: "Bundle of Joy"

Well designed with interwoven consequences between outside and “in”. Great voices. Helps kids know emotions are okay. Pretty sad at times.

An incredible animation that showcases much of human complexity (which is certainly only the surface), with its traumas, psychologies, transformations, evolutions, and personality paradigms. It makes us reflect that all feelings are essential for constant learning and emotional growth, in the pursuit of a perfection we will never achieve. Technically, it's the visual spectacle that Pixar always provides and which deservedly won the Oscar for best animated feature that year. An essential and must-see film for all ages!
