The movie "Jin-Roh" is about those in society who are predators among prey. But these "beasts" never bother to change their shape; like Red Riding Hood's wolf, they merely drape themselves with human clothes that do not even disguise the eyes, teeth and claws of a killer. Society rightly fears them. In "Jin-Roh," the Capital Police are themselves hunted -- marked for elimination as a force by their own government, and by a public eager to forget the past.

I liked the idea of the movie more than the movie itself -- though sections of it are mind-blowing. Go to Full Review

Jin-Roh's hand-rolled look and ripped-from-the-sci-fi-headlines plot are an asset and a relief. Go to Full Review

Matinhoga T @RT97561980 1d It's definitely a must-see if you're into a animation style that resembles Akira, which perfectly portrays an heavy narrative, giving an honest development and well-fit end to the story. The cross-refferencing with the Red Riding Hood is definitely chilling and made me constantly ponder over the protagonist and his visible internal conflictation. But those who watched saw which side of his mixed personality ended up prevailling, which made the movie an unique experience to me, if not the second best story-wise, despite the simple narrative with secondary subtle elements which close up in the end. (Not all of them, but most have an satisfactory close-up.) - Avoided giving out spoilers because I REALLY want you to watch this movie, its an absolute masterpiece in what it proposes itself to portray. See more Christian W @Christian534 Jun 13 AN UNDERRATED GEM that represents how people can surrender and reject their dreams to stay what they are all because of how oppressive society can be. 9/10 See more #WOODSTOCK89PAUL T @RT16624476 Apr 25 After missing out on this film for years and never falling upon it i must say wow Bravo. Some may not appreciate this film for its creativity and well written storyline. After seeing a few scenes on social media I watched it fully myself for the first time ever and was so glued to the screen. Some parts that are "boring" to others are mainly the non action scenes where the characters are "catching feelings" and well it really does add to the end. 10 out of 10 will definitely re watch this and keep it in my collection. I personally hope if even 1 minute of this movie has caught your attention you will give it a chance and watch it in full. This is my first review sorry if its crap See more Oaklee D @ODie63 Dec 27 A emotional high stakes thrill ride. Not just a good anime but a good film period. See more Greg K @GregZ 08/05/2023 Although the pace is slow and the dialogues plenty, the criss-cross cat-and-mouse game is fleshed out with depth and pathos. See more Johnathon W @Hoppynsc 03/20/2023 Powerful science fiction movie playing on the scary aspects of a totalitarian state that doesn't give any easy answer. The cast is uniformly excellent, probably realistic depictions of both terrorists and law enforcement, while the writer/director depicts a very gray and gritty world. You actually understand both sides of the story, as the police genuinely believe they are protecting the public good while the terrorists are fighting for freedom. Most interestingly, it doesn't really take a side, only showing how this kind of conflict devastates both. It is nicely mixed with some gritty action, especially when the Special Squad shows off their elite armor. One of the better and more mature anime movies. See more Read all reviews
