TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 1 day ago Katie’s Mom initially felt like it had some type of beginning and might actually go somewhere. Unfortunately, it never developed into what I hoped it would be. The story felt predictable enough that I could see exactly what was going to happen, but the screenplay was not strong enough to make that predictable story interesting or keep me focused. Sometimes you can watch a movie hoping to enjoy the cinematic experience, but Katie’s Mom struggled to provide even that. There was a lot of downplay throughout the film, and I kept waiting for something to happen that would give the story more energy or make the drama feel meaningful. I wanted something fun or a compelling dramatic storyline, but it never landed that way. Ultimately, the screenplay was poorly written and the development was a struggle. There were opportunities to create something more engaging, but they were never realized. Unfortunately, Katie’s Mom did not give me enough to stay invested, and I cannot recommend it.
