The movie’s most striking feature is certainly not the unmerciful and grotesque sense of humour – his stylistic trademark – but rather the spine-chilling testimonies from the victims of clergy sexual abuse that burst unexpectedly into the fiction. 08/01/2021 Instead of making you think, the movie ends up being more preachy than sermons it depicts. One of the plot lines had actual nuance which was good until it got completely ruined by unnecessary last 30 minutes, stripping the experience of any depth. It's just not worth your time. The pictured priests somehow come through not just as beasts but (with one or two exceptions) as victims. They perpetuate the abuse and corruption that they had suffered as children in the hands of an human institution and environment.
