The build-up to this climax is slow but is masterfully done without being too sentimental, and Granik seems to understand how to deliver an emotional moment without being manipulative.

AMC at Times Square had the wrong movie. I went to see a movie with Ben Foster, but they showed a Boys Scout documentary instead... It was interesting but it's not what I intended to go see or what was advertised.

There was no musical score -- which means that the emotional appeal of this movie is the result of the intense interactions between the daughter and father. It's a movie that tells a story, and the viewer is left wondering was that all there could be -- because sometimes that's life.

Superbly acted by Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie about a father and daughter that choose to live an unconventional lifestyle off the grid. A visually good and well directed, quiet drama. Interesting movie.
