"was an OK film, but it seems like the brother died because Saroo wandered off. They make no mention of that" ...no wonder audience reviews get ignored, how can you be THAT blatantly ignorant. this film was beautiful and true, a real look into what it's like for an adoptive family, i cant imagine what they didnt say with the other adopted brother, they only showed us a mere fragment of their lives. wonderful story

Seeing Lion as someone who was adopted myself, it hit me in a way no other film could. The sense of being uprooted, of loving your adoptive family while still carrying that quiet, persistent longing for your birth family, is so raw and real here. Sunny Pawar’s portrayal of young Saroo is heartbreakingly innocent and Dev Patel as the adult shows the ache of searching for identity without ever losing gratitude for the life he was given. Nicole Kidman and David Wenham feel like the adoptive parents anyone would be lucky to have, full of love and patience. Watching the film, I felt both comforted and unsettled, reminded of the duality of adoption: the joy and the loss, the belonging and the questions that never fully go away. It’s one of those rare films that doesn’t just tell a story, it makes you feel it deep in your bones.
