In the Evil Dead-style scenario that follows, Tjahjanto deftly flings all manner of witchcraft, voodoo and splatter just to see what will stick. The subtext may be shallow, but the blood runs deep, ensuring the viewer one hell of a crazy night.

While sometimes the effects can get a tiny bit hokey, it could have easily been remedied by showing less. That, however, did not take away from the film’s scariness. I had a lot of fun watching it and you will too.

Clumpy, gore-laden, inglorious fun that's a structural sham, but gets by on frights and freaky demon monsters! MTDTY provides cracking comedy amongst the gunk, but the clumsy script, gawky dialogue and strained duration are hard to disregard.

No exaggeration, this may be the worst movie I have ever seen, with the most infuriatingly stupid cast of characters I have ever witnessed in cinema. No conceivable group of human beings would act like that. Completely nonsensical plot that's third act devolves into cheesy jump scares with characters that seem to forget the predicament they're in after every single scene. Complete and utter garbage
