Kris T @RT26407207 4 days ago Surprisingly I did enjoy the movie. I guess some of Finnish folklore and the language just added to it. It gives a vibe of Rosemary's baby as we dont see fully the baby until the very end, but with a bit less of elegance of this classic. What really put me off was the ending scene with trees growing through the house. Such poor CGIs that I'd rewritten the entire scene to go with something more natural and easy to make. She didn't tell anyone, including her doctor, about how the baby wouldn't eat anything but blood, what happens when she tried to breastfeed, or even take it to the doctor when it had a bad burn. And nothing was ever said in the film by anyone about the baby's voice - he never cried like a baby. He sounded like an animal from day one. Either make the movie realistic or make it a fantasy. Nevertheless Rupert Grint is back!!!! It's been awhile since I seen him in a movie.. Jon and saga movie to a Finnish Forrest and are eager to start a big family. This baby is evil and I'm here for it. The ending was crazy good. Its strongest element is the relationship between Saga and Kora, supported by striking Finnish locations, oppressive forest imagery, and an atmosphere that is often more disturbing than the film’s explicit horror. The cast is effective, particularly in the quieter psychological moments, while the story smartly keeps us questioning whether Saga is experiencing a mental collapse or genuinely confronting something supernatural. Unfortunately, the film loses some of that ambiguity in its second half, where exaggerated performances and more explicit visual horror replace the subtle tension of the opening. Still, Nightborn is an ambitious and often disturbing horror film whose ideas are considerably stronger than some of its more excessive choices.
