Watching Knappenberger's documentary will hopefully raise awareness about the state of jeopardy independent journalism is currently in and possibly prevent a situation like Gawker's from happening to another outlet.

Makes some interesting cultural connections in telling the Gawker story, but then morphs into a heavy-handed free press advocacy piece that smacks a little of propaganda, despite the important message.

What could have been a documentary about a gossip site posting "revenge porn" and a "win" for being against "fappenings" . . . turns into Trump derangement syndrome and calling gawker releasing sex tapes "journalism". Looking at this in 2022 with all sorts of tech censorship and common knowledge of corrupt media. No wonder the critic score is in 90s while audience score is pretty low.

Massively tilted. Tediously predictable. Uses overtly selected emotionally manipulative techniques to support preselected one-dimensional narrative. Hard to draw serious conclusions with such a one-sided bit of propaganda.
