Director Ezra Edelman examines race and celebrity through the life of O.J. Simpson. Beginning at the emergence of his football career at the University of Southern California, the documentary tracks his rise in the National Football League, his television career, and his relationship with Nicole Brown -- including allegations of domestic abuse and the eventual murder of Brown and her boyfriend, Ron Goldman -- juxtaposing Simpson's story against the mounting racial tensions and strained relationship between law enforcement and the African-American community in Los Angeles.

This is, by far, the absolute best documentary I have ever seen. And I’ve seen thousands. This documentary provides extensive historical context into the life of O.J. Simpson and his fame, intense race relations in Los Angeles, and the significance of the Trial of the Century. It is surprisingly unbiased and offers various perspectives from key figures in the case, including the lawyers, news reporters, family members of the victims and friends of Simpson. Ezra Edelman’s direction is marvelous. He really pieced the entire story together in plain yet powerful English, and he did a spectacular job of showcasing just how big, cultural and emotional this American tragedy really was. Edelman’s eyeopening view of race in America will make you actually understand and respect the reasons why some people in the Black community rejoiced over Simpson’s acquittal and what it meant for the justice system and Black people in America, and it’ll make you ponder over what really matters in our society.

The story about O.J. Simpson has always been complex. This docuseries put it in very easy to understand terms. This series was very engaging and vey well done. I strongly recommend this to anyone.
