Starring newcomer Jamila C. I enjoyed the fact that the show represented a strong African American family. They had their struggles but they were a family. I enjoyed seeing the bond between friends and the real love between friends.

I love Angie Thomases stories. This was well made into a movie. I love seeing black representation on the screen for more than just thugs and drug dealers, etc. or maids and slaves. It has a really good message. The acting was superb.
