Paterson (Adam Driver) is a hardworking bus driver in Paterson, N.J., who follows the same routine every day. He observes the city and listens to fragments of conversations while picking up and dropping off his passengers. Paterson also writes heartfelt poems in a notebook, walks his dog and drinks one beer in a bar after his shift is over. Waiting for him at home is Laura (Golshifteh Farahani), his beloved wife who champions his gift for writing.

If you go into Paterson expecting a high-octane film, then you will be sorely disappointed. Instead, once again Jim Jarmusch has created an interesting film that is largely a character study of two everyday people.

Why did I watch this movie? Adam Driver ... THAT's why. Unfortunately, the movie wasn't interesting at all. It was like a day in the life of two extraordinarily ordinary people who live a drab, boring life and seem to be okay with that. There is a TON more drama in my own life. It was so boring that my mind kept drifting, and I got distracted by my dogs/cat, the internet, etc. etc. So I've now watched 3/4 of the movie and am not going to finish watching it. I wish I could get that hour and 45 minutes back.

It's a thought provoking movie with many hidden meanings and you have to have to be in the right frame of mind to appreciate it. It's not a topical movie with a story line but a reflection of a day to day life that captures what you could make of life. Like anything in a normal life, which is a Joirney and not a destination and one has to appreciate and enjoy like for what it is.
