In one of his best performances, Cushing plays on the ambiguity of the central character, so that the Baron becomes a kind of Wildean martyr, alternating between noble defiance and detached cruelty.

Cushing was fine as usual but I found the movie dull compared to other Hammer Frankenstein movies. Not one of Terence Fisher's best Hammer movies but an okay watch at best. Disappointing.

Love these old atmospheric British made films. And Peter Cushing is great as always and absolutely perfect for this role. I remember watching these old films when I was a kid with my chemistry and dissection kits. Great memories.

I wondered how they were going to make a sequel to The Curse of Frankenstein, considering how that movie ended, but The Revenge of Frankenstein somehow pulled it off. This story is similar, but it’s an entirely different creature than the original film. Peter Cushing, as to be expected, gives a fantastic performance, even if the other characters surrounding him are mostly one-dimensional. And despite the fact that it’s only a few minutes longer than the first film, the plot plods along at a much slower pace. Nevertheless, The Revenge of Frankenstein is another solid entry in this Hammer Film series.
