Gwendolyn Shepherd (MARIA EHRICH) is actually a very normal 16-year-old teen. What's annoying is that her family definitely has a tad too many secrets. They all have to do with the time-travel gene that is passed down in the family. Everyone is certain that Gwen's cousin Charlotte (LAURA BERLIN) has the gene, and so everything is all Charlotte, all the time. Until the day Gwen, out of the clear blue sky, suddenly finds herself in London at the end of the 19thcentury. She knows right away that she, and not Charlotte, was born to be a time traveler -- even if she could certainly do without it. Just as she could do without Charlotte's arrogant boyfriend Gideon de Villiers (JANNIS NIEWÖHNER), with whom she now has to forge an alliance in order to clear up the biggest secret of her family history. One thing is clear: she will do everything possible to solve the ancient mysteries. What isn't clear is that one should not fall in love between the times. For that really makes things complicated!

Für einen deutschen Film ist der wirklich Mega!! Echt magisch und ich habe so wenig auszusetzen, sodass es eine 5/5 von mir gibt. Sehr empfehlenswert

Not knowing anything about the book or the story in general I wasn't expecting too much. But to my surprise the story was easy to follow (for most of the time) and the plot rather intriguing so that my anticipation went higher with each film. So I can't say that even though it's not perfect, this trilogy is definitely worth a watch ^^

Watched this movie when I was a puberty teenager. Fuxing loved it! It was everything you wanted in a teenage fantasy drama. Suspense, time travelling, romance, thriller and more. A must watch. 100% recommend.

Der Film basiert auf die Buch Trilogie „Liebe geht durch alle Zeiten" Rubinrot, Saphirblau und Smaragdgrün von Kerstin Gier. Rubinrot ist eher ein Fantasyfilm mit Action als eine Liebesgeschichte, wie es im Jugendbuch-Bestsellers geschildert wird. Maria Ehrich ist eine überzeugende Hauptdarstellerin, und Jannis Niewöhner gibt dem Fantasyfilm einen gewissen Reiz und Temperament.

It is a fantasy movie made in Germany and not a bad one. Its a adaption of the very funny book from Kerstin Gier and the fun is transfered in the movie mainly because of the good cast most notably Maria Ehrich.
