Isn’t a good movie—indeed, it’s kind of a mess—but it’s also rather fun, in a guilty-pleasure sort of way...a slow-moving, convoluted crime yarn streaked with dark humor that holds one’s attention even as it lumbers to a sadly predictable conclusion.

The Deputy is a dark and engaging crime mystery thriller with a strong small-town noir atmosphere. Duke Nicholson delivers a restrained but interesting performance as rookie deputy Toby Sawyer, who gets pulled into a dangerous mystery after a dead body suddenly disappears. The investigation slowly reveals corruption, hidden secrets and criminal connections, keeping the story intriguing. William H. Macy and Tiffany Haddish add solid support to the cast. The movie mixes mystery, crime, action and dark humor while maintaining a gritty atmosphere. A stylish and entertaining crime thriller with an intriguing mystery at its center. 🔥🎬

The MC has ZERO charisma.. it's like they put a random junkie from the street to act. He either needs a shave or a full beard but this dirty look he has doesn't work for him.. the script is shit. the action is shit. It's a mediocre B movie.
