While the story is coherent and the characters are well-defined, the film leans far more into personal and financial pressure than action or momentum. The setup is clear and effective, and the performances carry the material well. However, the pacing and tone skew closer to a made-for-TV drama than a true action thriller. For a film featuring this lineup, the lack of urgency and physical stakes is noticeable. That said, it is still a good movie, just not the one it appears to promise. It avoids the excessive slowness of other recent films and tells a complete, understandable story, but it never fully commits to speed or spectacle. Although it lacks action and the depiction of the DEA is somewhat exaggerated, it remains an overall solid film. Maddi Henderson delivers a powerful performance in a key role.
