K G @KatyG-S 3h It would be good at worst. "The Florida Project" is the sight of originality & an execution of a movie. To see people apparently living nearby a Disneyland, which is located in Florida. They also have a cheap aesthetic. I imply that this can be a good representation of families unfortunately enough to live in those apartments. You may tell they have messed up lives & feel curious of what caused them. In example, our main girl, Moonee living with her mother, who can stressed & sweary & Moonee did the same as well - now we could normalise road rage in front of children. Do you think my parents were that bad? This does give the same vibe of Nani & Lilo. What was also dramatic was Jancey, the friend who Moonee becomes friends with & does seem heartfelt when Moonee did not want Jancey to go & she takes her to Disneyland, which makes things better. Family things could bring anybody together, doing something special. The best way to watch it is sit through the whole thing. It never judges its characters or tries to manipulate the audience, instead allowing their humanity to speak for itself. Bobby is the heart of the film. He understands both the struggling residents of the motel and the tourists staying just minutes away at Disney World, making him the emotional bridge between two completely different worlds. I interpret the ending as Moonee escaping into her imagination rather than physically reaching Disney. It's a heartbreaking conclusion that captures the innocence of childhood while highlighting the harsh reality surrounding her.
