And that's because this movie is without a doubt, painfully awful to the point of hilarity. Is so bad it's good. The script & dialogue are absolutely god awful, all the actors, including Cruise & Crowe are painfully clownish in the way they deliver their lines as if they are reading an invisible script on camera for the first time. The whole idea of creating a "Monster Universe" would be a great idea, if only it was spearheaded by the same people who brought Ironman to life in 2008. The concept would be good, but the entire film is just an entire corn-fest. Horrible acting, horrible script, horrible direction. I'm surprised the studio even let this turd be released. Yet it is a fascinating watch, it's like a painful Trainwreck in slow motion. But in the entire awful-ness of this film, there are some decent scary bits, even with horrible acting, and the Mummy chick, while creepy, is pretty hot. It's awful & hilarious. See more Marc Z @TKDLife Sep 3, 2026 There are so many recent versions of The Mummy it is hard to keep track. This PG-13 version stars Tom Cruise in an Indiana Jones type role. He is an Army specialist and Tomb Raider whose escapades lead him to a Tomb of a buried evil, mummified Queen. His discovery brings her back to life in modern times to wreak havoc. It is not bad but not great. Some cool effects. Cruise always good on screen but a little campy. Decent adventure movie but not Cruise's best, not the best movie on the topic.
