There is certainly pain and grief involved in the Moriah Wilson story, but each such moment here is counterbalanced by another dazzling photo of the cyclist’s smiling face. Go to Full Review

If there’s anything illuminating or edifying about watching these painful recollections, “Truth and Tragedy” misses it. Go to Full Review

The breakdown of the criminal investigation is fascinating to watch and perhaps even more intimately detailed than the life of this young woman whose story sometimes takes a backseat to her killer. Go to Full Review

For better or worse, the film is not sensational in the least. This means it’s pretty straightforward and respectful toward its victim, but it doesn’t have much bite. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson is a quiet, compassionate piece of filmmaking. It doesn’t seek to shock or to solve, but to honor and to understand. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 5h The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson is a sobering and emotionally charged documentary that chronicles the tragic death of a young, talented athlete. The film is compelling and keeps you engaged throughout, effectively portraying the heartbreak and chaos that surrounded her passing. While the story itself is devastating, the documentary balances the factual narrative with the emotional weight of the family’s struggle for justice, highlighting the perseverance required to navigate such a turbulent ordeal. Some moments feel unusual, like the focus on Moriah’s sister undergoing plastic surgery, which seems tangential to the central story. Yet, the documentary succeeds in maintaining a coherent and serious tone, emphasizing both the injustice and the resilience of those involved. It’s a story that could easily translate into a dramatic adaptation, with an actress like Sydney Sweeney capturing Moriah’s essence. See more Kevin S @RT86488330 1d A very well done documentary. Scorned love, how many times have we seen this in the movies? But this is real life and the character development in this documentary is one of the best I've seen. See more Alex L @DrMac444 1d It's like a beefed up episode of a true crime TV series - a little longer and a little better produced. The film does a very nice job memorializing Moriah Wilson and showing viewers the perspectives of people closest to her. This ends up being the bulk of what is emotionally compelling about the film, however; very little of the murder investigation is going to do much for fans of true crime. The film also portrays at least one individual in an exceedingly biased light; this leaves a sour taste for a film that otherwise was overly careful to err more on the side of sweet than savory. Of note, I really enjoyed the piano-based theme music. It's new agey - sort of George Winston-like - and well executed for what it is. See more Lee, L @RT44789346 2d A brilliant and beautiful production that leaves one to sit in silence long after the credits roll—heartbroken, inspired, and reminded of the fragility of life. See more Mike E @RT03248501 2d Review Absolute Must-See! I was moved by Moriah Wilson's story. We should remember that we are all strong and we are all scared, and that every choice we make can trigger change in the word for good or bad. We should always try for good, so next time a beautiful soul can be saved and not lost. See more Read all reviews
